Here's another Erich Barton joint featuring the punch of classical violin, overwhelming bass and excellent BFM / ACM.

The song is Elements by Lindsey Stirling, and all shots were taken on Warbirdsofprey's Spits vs 109s HSFX server.

Enjoy!

Here's a new gunnery montage from our very own Dr. Feelgood, Oblt. Erich "Hofnarr" Barton.

There are also some good shots of his wingman Max "Archer" von Halder.

Enjoy the maneuvers and the tunes!

The Ghost Skies: War Over Italy is now in it's final five missions, with II./JG 1 "Oesau" taking part as a fighter squadron attached to Luftflotte 2. The Allied push onto Sicily has been slowed, and their Mediterranean Air Command (MAC) has lost more aircraft than anticipated. Operation Husky lumbers forth, and the air war intensifies.

By klaiber on Mon, 09 Apr 2012 22:17:15 GMT

The Ghost Skies: Western Front 1944 offensive begins tonight, April 10th at 9:30PM EDT, with II./JG 1 "Oesau" taking part in the defense of "Fortress Europe". Despite the establishment of an Allied-controlled Western France, morale remains high among the fighter and bomber squadrons of the Luftwaffe, and we are preparing to drive the US and British back into the English Channel.

Ghost Skies: Solomon Islands has just begun, and II./JG 1 "Oesau" is apart of the German Expeditionary Force sent to aid our Japanese allies over the skies over Bougainville Island. The fighting has been intense, and the A6M Zero is far different than our normal Focke-Wulf Fw 190s. But, we're confident of our skill and determined to bring victory to the Axis.

II./JG1_Hess has made a great video of 4.(JaBo)/JG 1 and their recent exploits in the Slovenia 1941 campaign of the Ghost Skies tournament.

The movie, which he has uploaded to youtube, shows the staffel's first mission in that campaign, as well as some action shots of their escorts - Stab II./JG 1 and 5./JG 1, flying Bf 109Fs

Enjoy!

II./JG 1 will have our monthly Gruppe Meeting on Thursday, October 27th at 8:30PM EDT.

No serious agenda, but we will discuss the website, the next campaign for Ghost Skies, Gruppe practices, and pilot training. We will also continue our discussion regarding Cliffs of Dover, and our upcoming Dogfight Night on "Das Adlernest".

Should anyone have any issues that they'd like to have discussed, please contact me. The meeting shouldn't go any longer than a half hour, so the regular 9PM EDT practice will not be affected.

Hope to see you there.

Re: Ghost Skies - Holiday Break
The consensus has been that there will be no missions until the January 4th mission.
Re: Slovenia 1941 video
Pretty cool. I wish all our missions had been that easy:)
Re: Understanding Anthropomorphic Controls and your Joystick
@Grangest

Anthropomorphic Controls will lock you out until it receives no input from the axis. In your case it sounds like the extremes what the area it wasn't sending input. Other sticks may show jitters at the extremes but show nothing in the middle. All very stick specific.

At any rate, I am glad you got it working!
Re: Understanding Anthropomorphic Controls and your Joystick
I fiddled around with the deadzones a bit and flew around for about an hour, no control lock ups! I think on my end it was more of a problem with one or more of my rotary dials not being fully engaged and it would lock me out until I adjusted it to full rotation. Adjusting the deadzones a little more worked like a champ. I am happy now:-)

Re: II./JG 1: das Adlernest IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Dedicated Server
@Grangest

Actually, there is nothing wrong with Anthropomorphic controls. The problems that people have are related to how they are setting up their controls and how 'twitchy' they are. I am writing another post concerning this topic so keep your eyes out.

Re: II./JG 1: das Adlernest IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Dedicated Server
I like the server. I have been flying it almost everyday this week getting used to the new CEM settings. I would like to make one recommendation though, uncheck the Anthropomorphic controls in the realism settings. It does not work correctly for some users(me) in that my throttle, rad, orad, and TIR controls on my HOTAS will lock up for a few minutes at a time. I have aslo been flying on Syndicates' server and have had no control lock ups. They have the Anthropomorphic controls unchecked. Doing some research on the forums seems to suggest there is a problem with this feature.

Re: II./JG 1: das Adlernest IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Dedicated Server
Thanks a lot for the information and links, Krupinski. Gonna give it a try on our root as soon as they fixed some multiplayer issues. (coop mode,sound etc.)
Re: II./JG 1: das Adlernest IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Dedicated Server
@Hett Re: 1946 Server

Workin on it.
Re: II./JG 1: das Adlernest IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Dedicated Server
@GFC Christian

The dedicate server has been with the game since it was released. It's hasn't been noticeable since there hasn't been a separate download. But rest assured, its a dedicated server.

To see it in action right click the game title in your steam library and choose properties. Then click Set Launch Options and add '-server' without quotes. This will start IL-2 Cliffs of Dover in dedicated server mode.

The only documentation is the forums over at 1C, forum.1cpublishing.eu/forumdisplay.php?f=189.

These two threads are about the issues I had.

Re: II./JG 1: das Adlernest IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Dedicated Server
Very handy AND I can actually join it! Any way we can also get a dedicated 1946 server?
