The Ghost Skies: Western Front 1944 offensive begins tonight, April 10th at 9:30PM EDT, with II./JG 1 "Oesau" taking part in the defense of "Fortress Europe". Despite the establishment of an Allied-controlled Western France, morale remains high among the fighter and bomber squadrons of the Luftwaffe, and we are preparing to drive the US and British back into the English Channel.

Ghost Skies: Solomon Islands has just begun, and II./JG 1 "Oesau" is apart of the German Expeditionary Force sent to aid our Japanese allies over the skies over Bougainville Island. The fighting has been intense, and the A6M Zero is far different than our normal Focke-Wulf Fw 190s. But, we're confident of our skill and determined to bring victory to the Axis.

II./JG1_Hess has made a great video of 4.(JaBo)/JG 1 and their recent exploits in the Slovenia 1941 campaign of the Ghost Skies tournament.
The movie, which he has uploaded to youtube, shows the staffel's first mission in that campaign, as well as some action shots of their escorts - Stab II./JG 1 and 5./JG 1, flying Bf 109Fs
Enjoy!

On Saturday, 29th October at 9:00 p.m. EDT, II./JG 1 will host a Dogfight Night for IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover on our server, "II./JG 1: das Adlernest". The match will use the most recent version of the Cliffs of Dover game: v1.05.15950.
Current plans are to run a Battle of Dunkirk scenario, complete with all of the features that make Cliffs of Dover exciting! Users will be able to choose available planes, take off and intercept enemy NPC's or engage other players. The server will also rotate sub-missions regularly, about every 20 minutes, so there will always be planes in the air to engage.
Should anyone want more information regarding the event, please stop by our forums. All are welcome!

A couple years ago, we decided to switch out the JG 1 website with a more user and administratively friendly and easier to support website. We were having problems with our hosting provider at the time which the underlying issue was spread throughout the existing code base. That plus the fact that changing how it looked would be a major undertaking.
