Flanders in Flames XVI is warming up. This Tourney promises to be an amazing event. Lasting five weeks, FIF XVI will feature an intensive 4 week buildup phase where both sides will attempt to destroy the oppositions supply lines and prevent amassing of troops on the Front, all while defending their own supply lines, depots and staging areas from incursions by enemy bombers.
This FIF features new recon methods and a brand new scoring system system developed specifically for this event.
FIF XVI will have a fixed planeset and be a snapshot of the days proceeding the massive battle that will occur in week five! Signups will begin soon, so get your squadron ready and watch for your invites!

The furniture is not quite unwrapped and the typewriter needs a new ribbon. I can't seem to find the chalk anywhere but we are ready for new pilots. JG 1 has a history dating back almost 20 years, long before my time and its name alone is one of the most prestigious in history. Its alot to live up to and I am proud to call it home. As the Jasta Fuhrer of Jasta 11 my job is to bolster the ranks of my Jasta with new pilots and to that end, I would like to invite newcomers to the game, seasoned pros, and casual fliers alike to join us in JG 1.
Drop us a line in the Recruitment forum and a PM to me with your email address and we'll be in touch. When we get the final coat of paint on the Adjutant's office we'll have a proper X for you to put your Johan Strauss on in the way of Enlistment. but for now, the red tape can wait. Richthofen's Brats have never been long on protocol anyway. *grins and picks up the...

The permanent forums are now being used. You can find them at http://www.jg1.org/richthofen/Forums.aspx, also clicking the Forums link in the navigation will take you to the proper area. Registration is not required. However, if you are registered on the site the forums will use your web site credentials. Logging in is required to see member only forums.
Working with the forums should be very similar to what you are used to so it shouldn't be too hard to transition to the new forums. Just remember, that hat rack on your shoulders can be used for more than storing your fedora.
Presently only a few individuals have moderator or even access to every forum; this is due to security mappings road block I am dealing with. This will change as time goes on, but not until I an satisfied that what we do doesn't hinder us.
Also, the forums are displaying your user name for each post, and not your display name. This is not cause for alarm...

A couple years ago, we decided to switch out the JG 1 website with a more user and administratively friendly and easier to support website. We were having problems with our hosting provider at the time which the underlying issue was spread throughout the existing code base. That plus the fact that changing how it looked would be a major undertaking.
We decided to drop the hosting provider, host the sites ourselves and to create a new web site that was bigger, better and faster. We discussed, planned and implemented what we have today.
Our new website is able to do much more than anything we've tried before. It is extensible featuring an module driven design that allows us to implement new features without worry about the existing code. It is easy to use. For non-technical content contributors, learning to add and maintain web pages can be done with minimal training.
We are extremely scalable, allowing us to grow as much as we need over time without migration to another CMS. We can support an unlimited...
